Job Description:
You will serve as a SAFETY & OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH MGR in the SAFETY DIVISION of HQ US MARINE CORPS. The Secretary of Defense has ordered a department-wide hiring freeze subject to certain limited exceptions. This position is subject to the DoD hiring freeze. Offers of employment related to this vacancy announcement will not be executed until the position has an approved exemption.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-14 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Participating in policy and decision making processes to include providing guidance to executives or senior leaders; AND planning, developing policy, directing, exercising staff supervision, OR evaluating a safety program for a large organization or enterprise. You will report to the Director, USMC, Safety Division.
You will assign responsibilities in terms of broadly stated objectives and functions.
You will complete technically authoritative work.
You will provide leadership and direction for the overall Marine Corps Safety Program.
You will ensure that milestones set forth are accomplished in a just and timely manner.
