Job Description:

You will serve as a STRATEGIC AND GLOBAL POSTURE ANALYST in the NATIONAL PLANS BRANCH of HQ US MARINE CORPS. The Secretary of Defense has ordered a department-wide hiring freeze subject to certain limited exceptions. This position is subject to the DoD hiring freeze. Offers of employment related to this vacancy announcement will not be executed until the position has an approved exemption.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Developing recommendations on strategic plans and matters and reporting to high level officials. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
You will develop recommendations on strategic and political-military matters, Global Posture issues and plans, prepare and review joint/combined war plans, strategic studies and documents.
You will provide U.S. Marine Corps (USMC) representation to various working groups in support of plan preparation and coordinate actions on USMC roles, plans, and policies.
You will serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) and source of continuity for Global Posture issues as it pertains to Service policy and Combatant Commander requirements.
You will provide expertise during the review of selected National level documents and Plans.
You will prepare responses to taskings and requests for briefings from the Secretary of Defense (SECDEF), Secretary of Navy (SECNAV), Commandant of the Marine Corps (CMC), and other agencies as directed.
