Job Description:

For the GS-5: Applicants must have at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-04 grade level in Federal service or 4 years of education above high school. Specialized experience is defined as experience: working in an office greeting visitors and/or answering phones calls; sorting and delivering incoming mail; maintaining and stocking supply room; and preparing various documents using word processing software. For the GS-6: Applicants must have at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-5 grade level in Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as experience: working in an office greeting visitors and operating a multi-line telephone system; handling mail services including processing all incoming and outgoing mail; ordering office supplies from various vendors, and preparing various documents using word processing software. For the GS-7: Applicants must have at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-6 grade level in Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as experience: working in an office greeting visitors and operating a multi-line telephone system; handling mail services including processing all incoming and outgoing mail; ordering office supplies from various vendors, and preparing various documents using word processing software.To be qualified, you must type at least 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors. (A typing test may later be required.) If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team that is responsible for: Processing supply requests in a timely manner and maintaining the office supply room; Receiving deliveries of supplies and ensuring that delivery conforms to order; Receiving, inspecting and storing furniture and equipment; Setting up and monitoring audio and visual equipment; Receiving and maintaining a log-in system for processing and following up on a variety of housekeeping and facilities maintenance requests; Processing outgoing hand deliveries upon receipt in the mail room; Purchasing supplies and ensuring accuracy upon delivery; Answering multi-line telephone system and receiving visitors; determining the nature of business concerns in order to appropriate person; Opening, date stamping, and distributing mail; Maintaining an up-to-date inventory of property; and Producing a variety of written documents utilizing varied and advanced functions in one or more types of office automation software. Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.
