Job Description:

The Supervisory Recreation Therapist at Corporal Michael J. Crescenz VA Medical Center (CMCVAMC) is a clinical professional aligned under the Assistant Director. CMCVAMC is a level 1b facility involving 3 primary locations: Community Living Center (CLC), serving long term care, short term care, hospice and palliative care, rehabilitation, respite care, and dementia care.
Applicants pending the completion of educational or certification/licensure requirements may be referred and tentatively selected but may not be hired until all requirements are met. Basic Requirements: United States Citizenship: Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy. Qualification standards for the Supervisory Recreation Therapist are outlined in VA Handbook 5005, Part II Appendix G60, Recreation and Creative Arts Therapist GS-0638. These qualifications include U.S. citizenship, bachelors or higher degree in Recreation Therapy from an accredited institution, appropriate experience, and mandatory professional certification as CTRS by NCTRC. A Supervisory Recreation Therapist who fails to maintain the required certification and/or registration must be removed from the occupation, which may result in termination of employment.
