THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a AIRCRAFT SURVIVAL FLIGHT EQUIPMENT SPECIALIST, Position Description Number D1728000 and is part of the PA 171st Air Refueling Wing, National Guard. 1 or more Position(s) may be hired against this Announcement.
APPOINTMENT STATUS: EXCEPTED This is a Dual Status Excepted Service Technician position in the Pennsylvania Air National Guard. AREA OF CONSIDERATION: Bargaining Position AOC 1: NG Employees at the 171st ARW Military Grades: ENLISTED E6 Supervisor for this position is Lt Col Mccullough Manpower #00867319 *NOTE: Accessioning into this position is contingent upon verification of Secret Security Clearance GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience or training which demonstrates the applicants knowledge of materials and equipment used in the line of work (helmets, torso harness assemblies, parachutes, survival equipment). Ability to understand written instructions and to use reference materials and manuals. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Application must indicate experience or training which has demonstrated knowledge of aviation life support equipment. Experience reading and interpreting military manuals. Experience in supply procedures and property accountability. Experience collecting information and presenting it to various sized groups. Experience in planning a functional shop maintenance program is essential. QUALITY OF EXPERIENCE: Length of time is not of itself qualifying. Candidates' experience should be evaluated on the basis of duties performed rather than strictly on the rank of the individual; however, established compatibility criteria/assignments must be followed. The applicant's record of experience, training, and education must show possession of the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to fully perform the duties of the position to be filled. As an Aircraft Survival Flight Equipment Specialist, WG-4818-11, you will plan and lay out work to be accomplished in the shop which is then completed by the incumbent and lower graded worker(s). Utilize knowledge and skills of the journey level as well as those required to plan, accomplish, and maintain a functional shop maintenance program. Independently determine appropriate maintenance procedures such as how and when the work should be accomplished. Estimate manpower, equipment, and material requirements. Devise and maintain all program plans and records, perform surveillance and troubleshooting, and determine maintenance/repair procedures to be utilized. Plan, organize, and direct shop maintenance programs/procedures under general supervision. Perform other duties as assigned.
