This position serves as the Deputy Technical Director, Naval Surface Warfare Center, Corona Division. The Secretary of Defense has ordered a department-wide hiring freeze subject to certain limited exceptions. This position is subject to the DoD hiring freeze. Strong science and technology background and competence in combat systems research, development, test and evaluation (RDT&E) acquisition policy and project management execution in the development and consistent application of criteria, analysis tools, techniques, and data sets accepted throughout the engineering community. TQ#2. Knowledge of Warfare Centers, Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) affiliated Program Executive Officers, and the Fleet relative to the Division's organization, mission, technical authority roles and responsibilities, and inter-relationships. You will oversee the technical direction of the research, development, test, and evaluation (RDT and E) programs conducted to support Corona Division mission to include assessment of surface ship weapon and combat systems.
You will develop and analyze future warfighting Test and Evaluation (T and E) concepts and capabilities, e.g., remote monitoring, predictive modeling, embedded intelligence, and smart data filtering.
You will support the Commanding Officer in his role as the Department of Navy Technical Agent for metrology and calibration and as Engineering Agent for the Fleet's LVC global network architecture, operations, and maintenance.
You will provide technical leadership and oversight of the long term stewardship of the Division's Technical Capabilities.
You will provide highly authoritative scientific and technical advice and guidance on data science and analytics across the RDT and E acquisition phase.
You will advise on the Department of the Navy Test and Evaluation Executive Board and the Test and Monitoring Systems Executive Board.
