This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Competitive Service Positions to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: This position is located at Lower Granite Project, operated by the US Army Corps of Engineers and situated on the Snake River, 32-river miles downstream from Clarkston, Washington. This Project provides hydroelectric generation, navigation, fish passage and recreation.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes performing three out of the six following duties: 1) Hydropower experience, 2) Ability to prepare and present briefings, 3) Maintenance engineering experience, 4) Set scope deadlines, priorities, practices and procedures for maintenance program 5) Experience representing any agency/company in front of stakeholders and other agencies/companies, 6) Experience in the regional power system. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). ???????Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. Serves as Chief of Maintenance at Lower Granite Project.
Responsible for the independent accomplishment of managerial and technical work involving the overall maintenance of Lower Granite Lock and Dam hydropower, fish, navigation, and visitor facilities.
As a principal assistant to the Operations Manager, participates fully in the planning of future work and projects, including project rehabilitation and research.
Plans, directs and coordinates through subordinate supervisors and crew foremen the activities of electrical, mechanical, structural, and general maintenance personnel in the performance of maintenance and construction hired labor work.
Coordinates new, proposed, and current construction activities by other agencies and the Corps.
Manages a multi-million-dollar, multi-year budget for routine and no-routine maintenance activities across several business lines.
