Job Description:

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. This position is included under the provisions of Special Retirement Coverage (SRC) and may have both a maximum entry age and a mandatory retirement date. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: specialized experience is defined as: studies and analyzes the installation's activities and develops fire prevention and protection programs. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). The following certifications MUST be uploaded into your application package: Hazardous Materials Technician Hazardous Materials Incident Commander Firefighter II Airport Firefighter (ARFF) Fire Instructor II Fire Inspector II Fire Officer III Incident Safety Officer Health and Safety Officer
Serves as the Deputy Fire Chief.
Develops and implements of effective fire prevention educational training programs for the populace of the installation
Reviews and approves contingency plans to effectively handle Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD), CBRNE, Force Protection, and Hazardous Materials incidents.
