Job Description:

You will serve as Distinguished Engineer/Scientist for Hydroacoustic Signatures in the Signatures Department of CARDEROCK DIV NS. The Secretary of Defense has ordered a department-wide hiring freeze subject to certain limited exceptions. This position is subject to the DoD hiring freeze. Recognized leader and technical expert in Hydroacoustic Signatures, with a proven track record of publications, presentations, and participation in relevant professional organizations and naval platform integration programs. TQ#2. Demonstrated leadership in transitioning newly developed Hydroacoustic Signatures mitigation technologies and strategies into effective fleet systems and naval platforms across large research and development teams. You will serve as the principal technical expert and advisor for Hydroacoustic Signatures (i.e., Radiated Flow Noise, Propulsor Noise, and Platform Noise) mitigation technology development for Surface Ships, Submarines, and Unmanned Vehicles.
You will generate and develop new ideas and information that will lead to advances in hydroacoustic signature control technologies.
You will serve as the authoritative expert for Hydroacoustic Signatures, providing oversight and coordination of mitigation technology research and development initiatives.
You will provide Hydroacoustic Signatures phenomenology and technology consultation to OPNAV, TEAMSUB, ONR, DARPA, NAVSEA, ARL/Penn State University, and numerous universities and contractors.
You will serve as a nationally and internationally recognized expert and conduct broad-based analysis integrating the frontiers of: Hydroacoustic theory, measurement, modeling and simulation and mitigation technology development,
You will engage in strategic planning and technical oversight of research and development efforts related to hydroacoustic signatures.
You will provide technical guidance to research team efforts in the theoretical and experimental research and development of advanced Hydroacoustic signature control technology.
