This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Shortage Category/Critical Need, S U.S.C. 9902(h)(2), 6/6/2017 to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Serves as a Detective, conducting investigations to apprehend and/or detain persons committing crimes.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience at the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service or equivalent which includes performing the full range of investigative duties such as detecting and investigating crime scenes, completing investigation reports, interviewing witnesses, interrogating suspects and obtaining warrants.
Conduct investigations to apprehend and/or detain persons committing crimes against persons and property.
Serve as Point of Contact (POC) for civil law enforcement agencies required to serve due process to military and civilian personnel on the installation.
Responsible for the proper documentary control of the safe and secure storage of all evidence obtained during investigations, raids, etc.
Provide informal channels to resolve problems arising due to jurisdictional or procedural differences between the military and civil agencies.
