As an Security Specialist, you will serve as a Special Security Representative assisting with the management and coordination of the day-to-day operations within the Special Security Programs.
The qualifications for this position must be met by 11:59 PM (Eastern Time) on 12/18/2025. Current Federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the lower grade or equivalent grade band in the Federal service. You must have experience performing the following duties: Assisting in the management of a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF). Conducting inspections of SCIFs, to ensure compliance with federal regulations. Coordinating classified level meetings for cleared personnel. Conducting security training. Performing security checks using secure databases. Organizational Location: This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, within the Office of Security and Integrity and are assigned based on the need of the agency.
Serves as a Special Security Representative for facilities and systems within USCIS, possessing a wide range of knowledge in numerous security disciplines to include personnel, industrial, physical, communications, and information systems security.
Performs security operations and compliance duties in the management of the administration of a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF).
Demonstrates wide range knowledge of security program policy, development, and implementation involving Personnel, Industrial, Physical, Communications and Information Security Systems.
Coordinates security classified level meetings and secure communications for USCIS cleared personnel and visitors.
Conducts inspections of SCIFs while ensuring adherence to all ODNI and DHS security processes and method.
Coordinates and provides special security awareness training within the Agency, including briefings, directives; computer based training and audiovisual presentations.
Provides and administers instructor-led training for USCIS SCI personnel and SCIF tenants on Intelligence Community Marking system as it pertains to the ODNI register and manual.
Implements procedures, methods, and processes for supervision and management of special security operations including knowledge of intrusion detection systems (alarms) and access control systems (ACS).
Possesses ability and knowledge to conduct and participate in the security SCI incident and violation program including collecting information, interviewing all personnel involved in the security incident, conclusion, and recommendations.
