Specialized experience MUST include all of the following: Overseeing or executing management plans in support of a marine sanctuary program or natural resources management program; Collaborating with government and non-government entities and stakeholders on complex politically sensitive issues; and Prioritizing and assigning work for staff and improving the effectiveness of the administrative operations of a program.
As a Supervisory Sanctuary Superintendent, you will perform the following duties: Develop and implement Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary (FKNMS) program functions and collaborate with government and non-government entities and stakeholders in support of FKNMS programs and policies. Direct the day-to-day implementation and execution of the organization's administrative and financial operations, to include multiyear and longer budget and agreements. Carry out policies and purposes of the National Marine Sanctuaries Act, relevant presidential proclamations, executive orders, and oversee development of plans and programs for both short and long time frames to conserve, protect, enhance, restore, investigate, and manage sanctuary resources through research and outreach. Exercise supervisory authority over the FKNMS program staff and manage the human resources functions and staffing planning for programs. POSITION REQUIREMENTS: This position requires the operation of a Federal motor vehicle. This position has physical requirements. This position requires the submission of a Financial Disclosure Form, SF-450. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: Frequent travel to a variety of locations to meet with collaborators and participate in community or scientific presentations, meetings and discussions is required. Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid state driver's license to operate a government vehicle.
