For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below:1. Attention to Detail - Coordinates and accomplishes multiple tasks and projects requiring substantial analysis, organization, and coordination.2. Customer Service - Makes contacts to exchange technical information, coordinates and advises on work efforts and resolves problems.3. Oral Communication - Interfaces effectively with senior management and diverse user groups to include oral and visual presentations.4. Problem Solving - Diagnoses and resolves information assurance problems in response to customer reported incident. AND Qualifying Experience: To qualify at the GS-12 grade level, you must demonstrate at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in Federal Service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience is defined as experience: maintaining network architecture and infrastructure; configuring and maintaining servers, hubs, routers, and switches; monitoring network capacity and performance; analyzing network traffic patterns and installing network software fixes, upgrades, and enhancements; resolving hardware/software interface and interoperability problems; designing, developing, testing, implementing, and managing internet and intranet websites; implementing policies and procedures to ensure information systems reliability and accessibility and to prevent and defend against unauthorized access to systems, networks, and data; implementing programs to ensure users are aware of, understand, and adhere to systems security policies and procedures; and assessing and providing feedback on problematic trends and patterns in customer support requirements and providing recommendations to resolve cited problems.
If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team that is responsible for providing technical and analytical assistance involving other IT specialty areas supporting the information management needs of the US Attorney's Office. Typical work assignments will include: Diagnosing and resolving problems in response to customer reported incidents. Providing customer support services including installation, configuration, troubleshooting, customer assistance and training in response to user requirements. Managing accounts, network rights, and access to systems and equipment. Designing, developing, testing, implementing, and managing internet and intranet websites. Monitoring functionality, security, and integrity of internet services, as well as managing internet servers. Planning and scheduling the installation of new or modified hardware, operating systems, and applications software, working closely with customers to ensure seamless installation, and minimizing installation problems. Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.
