THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a HEALTH SYSTEMS SPECIALIST-Title 5, Position Description Number T5810200 and is part of the WI 115 FW, Wisconsin Air National Guard.
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Work that required a knowledge of the basic principles and practices related to the management of a health care delivery system. Such experience may have been gained as an administrative officer, management analyst, or administrative or clinical program manager or supervisor in a health care delivery system. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: To qualify at the GS-0671-09, you have 1 year equivalent to at least next lower grade level. Candidate must have experience being progressively responsible analytical or administrative, or clinical management or supervisory experience in the health care field. Candidate with education in strength and conditioning specialist and tactical strength and conditioning facilitator through the NCSA (National Strength and Conditioning Association) preferred but not required. This work may have been performed in an operating health care facility or a higher organizational echelon with advisory or directional authority over such facilities. Work must have involved a close working relationship with facility managers and analysis and/or coordination of administrative, clinical, or other service activities, and provided knowledge of the following: Missions, organizations, programs, and requirements of health care delivery systems; Regulations and standards of various regulatory and credentialing groups; and Government-wide, agency, and facility systems and requirements in various administrative areas such as budget, personnel, and procurement.
Manages Health Services activities, including plans and operations, human resource management, and Medical staffing. Provides medical management and advisory services that contribute substantially to the plans, policies, decisions, and objectives of senior management. Directs the Medical Group accreditation program and management improvement studies. Determines eligibility, authorizes and coordinates civilian and military medical care for Active Guard Reserve (AGR) personnel and other eligible beneficiaries in accordance with directives and local policies. Reviews medical supply and equipment requirements, makes appropriate recommendations, and requests required procurement and funding authorizations. Directs budget formulation and execution. Prepares the medical annual operational budget including current fiscal year, revised estimates, five year projected estimates and medical unit Financial Plan in accordance with Air National Guard (ANG) medical financial guidance. *** This is NOT an all-inclusive list of duties. ***
