This position is located at Yuma Proving Ground, AZ. A qualified candidate must possess the following: Experience, education and/or specialized training sufficient to demonstrate knowledge and skill in Outdoor Recreation. Must have knowledge of and experience in a wide variety of Outdoor Recreation pursuits. NOTE: The above minimum qualifications must be described within the duties of previous work experience listed on the applicant's resume and/or supporting documents. A copy of all documents must be submitted at the time of application.
Works under general supervision of the Outdoor Recreation Manager or Recreation Specialist as a Recreation Assistant.
Instructs groups and individuals in a variety of outdoor recreation programs, such as but not limited to rafting, rock climbing, kayaking, hiking, mountain biking, and challenge course activities.
Incumbent is responsible for group management. The safety of the participants must always be the number one priority.
Effectively communicate to participants who have a wide range of abilities and backgrounds. Teaches children as well as adults.
Must be familiar with all programs offered by Outdoor Recreation, as well as be familiar with local area as the position requires providing information to customers.
