Job Description:
This position is a working leader assigned responsibility for building and utility maintenance work. Incumbent performs the duties and responsibilities of a craftsman in the maintenance, preservation, and construction operations of the park including historic structures, buildings and other park facilities and physical resources.
To qualify for this position, you must have sufficient knowledge and ability in the following job-related factors: Ability To Interpret Instructions, Specification, etc. (includes blueprints reading) Ability To Lead Or Supervise Ability To Use and Maintain Tools and Equipment Knowledge of Equipment Assembly, Installation Repair, etc. Knowledge of materials Technical Practices (theoretical precise, artistic) Use of Measuring Instruments SCREEN OUT: Lead or supervise maintenance mechanics equivalent to the WG-10 level. Experience demonstrates potential ability to lead by meeting the following 4 factors: 1.) Ability to communicate 2.) Integrity 3.) Willingness to accept policy 4.) and knowledge of Maintenance Mechanic work in at least two of the following trades (Masonry, Carpentry, Painting, Electrical, Plumbing, Air Conditioning Equipment Mechanic, and Utilities Systems Repair-Operator). The Work Leader directs employees in the performance of executing scheduled preventive maintenance inspections, & corrective maintenance of electrical, HVAC, utility system repairs, mechanical, and plumbing maintenance in the Arch Visitor Center, the Ranger Station, Grounds, Old Court House, and north and south overlooks throughout the busy season and the year to perform preventive maintenance and respond to issues. Cut-off Dates: This is an open continuous announcement, in which applications are collected over several months, and have multiple cut-off dates.
