These positions are temporary appointments not to exceed 1039 hours. The typical seasonal period for these positions is April - October but can be variable during these months due to weather conditions, project needs, or funding. Anticipated Entry on Duty: April 2026.

Performs annual and comprehensive condition assessment of trees to determine the health & vigor, and structural stability of trees through the knowledge of tree identification, structure and their functions. Performs risk (hazard) assessment of trees to determine the presence of tree defects that have the potential to fail, resulting in personal injury and/or property damage. Prunes trees and shrubs in accordance with industry standards to achieve desired objectives (e.g. reduce risk of failure, improve fruit & flower production, etc.) using handsaws, pole saw, and chainsaws. Plants/transplants trees and shrubs using proper plant selection and planting techniques while considering the latest know research and technology developments. Ascends/descends trees using a variety of climbing methods to perform arboricultural operations aloft.
