This position is being recruited under 10 USC 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It has been identified as a position necessary to carry out and support the mission of the US Cyber Command. For this position, qualifying experience is defined as: Experience in developing policies and procedures to ensure information systems reliability and accessibility or to prevent and defend against unauthorized access to systems, networks, and data. Monitoring and evaluating systems compliance with IT security policies and requirements. Providing advice and guidance in implementing IT security policies and procedures in the development or operation of network systems. Serves as principal technical authority and lead specialist in Vulnerability Assessment and Management, Cybersecurity Management, and Cyber Defense Analysis.
Develops, interprets, plans, and applies policy, process, procedure, and strategy in the delivery of multi-discipline IT services required to achieve data and system integration/interoperability for assigned systems and applications.
Provides expert technical guidance and interpretation for information security policies and practices. Oversees the implementation of security measures to ensure the availability and integrity of enterprise systems and data.
Oversees the cybersecurity program for information systems and networks within the organization.
Manages information security implications across strategic, personnel, infrastructure, and policy domains, including emergency planning and security awareness.
