Job Description:

This vacancy is for a GS - 0318 - 5/6, Secretary (OA) located in the Department of Homeland Security, US Coast Guard, Industrial Department, Mechanical Shop in Baltimore, MD.
Basic Requirements: This position has a positive Education Requirement in addition to at least one year of Specialized Experience or substitution of education for experience or combination (if applicable) in order to be found minimally qualified. Transcripts must be submitted with your application package. You MUST meet the following requirements: EDUCATION: GS-5: 4 years above high school GS-6: Not applicable AND To qualify at the GS-6 grade level, your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-5 grade level in the federal sector. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Examples of specialized experience include performing the following types of tasks on a regular and recurring basis. Experience maintaining files and records, logs and correspondence. Experience scheduling appointments with the supervisor and staff, reschedules appointments upon the request of supervisor or staff member. Experience making arrangements for travel, preparing travel orders, arranging schedules of visits, making reservations, notifying organizations, and submitting travel vouchers and reports Requisitions office supplies, equipment, and publications. To qualify at the GS-5 grade level, your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-4 grade level in the federal sector. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Examples of specialized experience include performing the following types of tasks on a regular and recurring basis. Experience checking for spelling, typographical errors, conformance to fonts and procedural requirements. Experience maintaining files and records, logs and correspondence. Experience assisting with development of training schedules, posts schedules and coordinates training sessions with supervisors. You will serve as a Secretary (OA) and be responsible for a variety of clerical and administrative duties which are pertinent to the functionality of the organization. Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include: Performing a full range of procedural work in the office. Maintaining subject matter files and records that relate to the work of the unit. Setting up and maintains logs showing the status of actions and correspondence. Ensuring that files include all pertinent information and are completed accurately.
