Job Description:

You will serve as a LEAD ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN (MECHANICAL) in the Engineering & Planning Division, Code 200 of PSNS and IMF.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing technical engineering guidance and support by resolving critical repair issues to ensure proper maintenance and safe operations of naval ships hull, mechanical or electrical systems. You will serve as the technical engineering expert on all HME systems onboard naval ships
You will serve as a Technical Coordinator/Team Leader of organized teams with responsibility for functional checks, test and inspection, material condition assessment of major systems.
You will conduct technical engineering investigations, research, and analysis for the solution of unusual or unprecedented technical engineering problems or in support of short and long-term engineering projects on assigned ships.
You will anticipate and solve technical difficulties in attacking and resolving problems and making significant technical decisions.
You will initiate and implement process improvement initiatives.
You will develop and coordinate technical training for both within and outside of the NWRMC Engineering Department.
You will act as design representative at meetings concerning problems encountered during ship inspection, repair and testing of HME systems/equipment.
