Job Description:

You will serve as a MANAGER in the Strategic Systems Analysis & Modernization Division (GXP), Test & Operations Branch (GXPL) of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER. The salary range shown above represents all of the positions within the band, including high grade positions. This is not a high grade position; therefore, the salary may be limited to a GS-14 Step 10 (currently $161,889).
In addition to basic education requirements, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower band, ND-04 (GS-12/13 equivalent grade level) or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: as a professional engineer or scientist providing programmatic and technical leadership for planning, managing, and executing projects to develop and assess engineering or scientific processes and procedures for improved efficiency and execution of strategic systems programs (e.g. Shipboard, Guidance, Navigation, Defense). You will serve as Branch Manager of Test & Operations Branch (GXPL), in Strategic Systems Analysis and Modernization Division (GXP), of Global Deterrence and Defense Department (GX).
You will oversee a wide range of technical operations providing Strategic Customers with High Reliability Hardware Systems.
You will be responsible for the execution of division management processes including management review, continuous improvement program, metrics, independent audits, internal assessments, corrective action management and reporting.
You will utilize internal controls, Human Resource Management, goal setting techniques and team-building to effectively manage and develop personnel in the Branch.
You will be responsible for understanding the rules and regulations of the Government Purchase Card program, for ensuring proper purchase card use, and for taking prompt and effective administrative and disciplinary corrective actions when warranted.
