MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: To be considered minimally qualified for this position, you must demonstrate that you have the required specialized experience for the respective grade level in which you are applying: To qualify at the GS-12 level, you must possess: Specialized Experience: At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in the Federal service performing (obtained in either the public or private sectors) (3) of the (4) duties listed below: Providing office-wide IT end-user customer support for the organization in determining VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) customers' needs to ensure the integration of the VoIP system components; Conducting analysis to recommend resolution of technical network requirements to be used in acquiring software or hardware from IT contracts; Testing or optimizing functionality of VoIP systems, networks, and/or data; Identifying or defining business or technical requirements applicable to the design, development, implementation, management, or support of VoIP systems and networks. TIME-IN-GRADE REQUIREMENTS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-11 is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-12 level. You must submit your SF-50 that shows Time-in-Grade eligibility and reflects your title, series, and grade. No award SF-50 will be accepted; recommended SF-50s include promotions and step increases (within grade increases).
This Info Tech Specialist (Network) provides IT responsibility for interpreting and implementing policies and procedures related to end-users voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) telephony services within the USAO-DC. If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team that is responsible for providing Info Tech Specialist (Network) support in the U.S. Attorney's Office, District of Columbia, located in Washington, District of Columbia, focusing in the areas of network services; customer support; systems administration; and data management. Typical work assignments will include: The incumbent serves as an IT Specialist with responsibility for interpreting and implementing policies and procedures related to end-users voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) telephony services within the USAO-DC. The incumbent has substantial responsibility for planning, administering, advising on, and evaluating IT and VoIP customer services, and providing VoIP support to end-users throughout the USAO-DC. The incumbent provides office-wide IT end-user customer support for the USAO-DC in determining IT and VoIP customer needs, ensuring the integration of VoIP systems components, and planning for VoIP systems implementation and upgrades.
