Job Description:
You will serve as a MANAGER in the OFFICE OF ENGINEERING, FLEET READINESS DIVISION (FR0) of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER. The Secretary of Defense has ordered a department-wide hiring freeze subject to certain limited exceptions. This position is subject to the DoD hiring freeze. Offers of employment related to this vacancy announcement will not be executed until the position has an approved exemption.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level NT-05 (GS-13/14 equivalency) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector providing fleet readiness oversight to coordinate warfare projects in compliance with budget requirements for a combat systems engineering program. You will provide leadership and oversight to a team of Customer Advocates, Technical Project Managers, Program Analysts, Engineers, Technicians, and Product Support.
You will serve as the primary interface with the fleet for readiness and self-sufficiency, coordinating ship incident response and battle damage repair planning and execution.
You will be the manager that ensures fleet needs are met through effective project management and technical support
You will oversee the fleet workload acceptance and execution process, including customer negotiations, task definition, funds allocation, progress reporting, and deliverables.
You will develop and execute strategies to build and lead Command projects, ensuring alignment with higher echelon and other Warfare Centers or SYSCOMs, and pursuing strategic and organizational goals
You will conduct investigations, solve complex programmatic and technical problems, and preparing comprehensive reports.
You will serve as the technical authority in combat systems in-service engineering, life cycle engineering for combat/weapon systems and sensors, and acquisition program management.
