This vacancy is for a GS-0080-13, Personnel Security Specialist located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, PERSONNEL SECURITY and VETTING DIVISION -CG-DCMS-342 in WASHINGTON, District of Columbia.
To qualify at the GS- 13 grade level, your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level in the federal sector. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Specialized experience should demonstrate the ability to provide Personnel Security training to personnel, to independently review, analyze, and resolve complex PERSEC issues, to develop guidance for PERSEC policies, procedures, assist with the update of PERSEC directives, regulations, manuals, guidelines or procedures. You will serve as a Personnel Security Specialist and be responsible for assisting administration and oversight of the agency's Personnel Security Program. Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include: Reviews and evaluates proposed and established Personnel Security and Suitability regulations, policies, and guidelines for agency-wide use. Assists agency technical authority(s) with policy and regulatory impact with the agency's Personnel Security program. Evaluates unit compliance with existing Personnel Security programmatic requirements and standards.
