You will serve as a Lead Accountant in the Accounting Division of the Comptroller Department of NAVUNSEAWARCENDIV KEYPORT WA. The Secretary of Defense has ordered a department-wide hiring freeze subject to certain limited exceptions. This position is subject to the DoD hiring freeze. In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Acting as Subject Matter Expert and leading a group of Accountants / Financial Management Analysts by planning, delegating, and organizing work. You will perform/advise on work in all of the phases of accounting and related systems, including Navy Enterprise Resource Planning System (ERP), Procurement Integrated Enterprise Environment (PIEE), and Defense Departmental Reporting System (DDRS).
You will be responsible for development, determination, and interpretation of cost and managerial accounting policies and practices, cost benefit analysis, and recommendations for alternative methods of financial management.
You will be responsible for ensuring the organizations strategic plan, mission, vision and values are communicated to the team and project level implementation plans.
You will coordinate work between accountants, analysts, auditors, and functional experts including leading teams responsible for ensuring completion of monthly financial statements as defined by Navy Comptroller.
