This vacancy is for a GS - 0501 - 11, Financial Management Specialist located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, SILC-CEU JUNEAU ASSET LINE MANAGEMENT BRANCH in JUNEAU, Alaska.
To qualify at the GS-11 grade level, your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-9 grade level in the federal sector. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Examples of specialized experience include performing the following types of tasks on a regular and recurring basis. You will serve as a Financial Management Specialist and be responsible for projects including new construction of CG facilities or repair, maintenance, modification or renovation of existing facilities. CG facilities include modern and historic buildings, waterfronts, airfields, hangars, aids-to- navigation facilities, communication facilities, single and multi-family housing, industrial buildings, multi-mission buildings, support structures and all associated utilities. Serving as the project point of contact for customers, activity, command, and contracting teams. This position will support accounting for all CEU financial and property accounts. Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include: Monitors, reviews and analyzes the execution of approved budgets and resource management plans. Reviewing all requests for expenditure of funds to ensure targeting to the proper account, availability of funds, and conformity with financial plans. Administers PC&I, OE and EC&R funds for construction contracts, training, office administration, Survey and Design, and Environmental Compliance & Restoration projects. Monitors and reviews financial accounting records and regular statements to verify and reconcile with CEU accounting records. Performing financial analysis, including querying and analyzing a wide variety of accounting and other financial data especially data obtained from FPD. Prepares financial reports and analysis to track the trends of funds expenditure against projects and verifies that funds are obligated in accordance with planned allocations.
