Credit will be given for all appropriate qualifying experience. To receive credit for experience, your resume MUST clearly indicate the nature of the duties and responsibilities for each position, starting and ending dates of employment (month/year), and the resume must reflect full and/or part-time or total number of hours worked (i.e., work 40+ hours a week, rather than indicating full-time). If part-time, the hours must be annotated to be able to pro-rate the amount of qualified specialized experience. To qualify for this position at the GS-07 grade level you must demonstrate experience in: ALL of the following four competencies: (1) Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail; (2) Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services; (3) Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately; (4) Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations; -AND- And least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). This experience includes activities such as: performing IT Service Desk activities, IT customer service, first call resolution for tier one diagnosis. Resolves recurring problems, determining hardware, software, and telecommunications equipment. Installs, configures, and tests software on customer workstations; and installs, configures, upgrades, and provides basic troubleshooting for hardware and software components. Provides routine advice and guidance to customers requesting information on established policy or procedures, including those related to information security. -OR- EDUCATION: Successful completion of one year of graduate education in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 18 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems, or networks. You must include transcripts. -OR- Successful completion of a combination of education and experience as described above. For example, 6 months of specialized experience (50% of the experience) and 9 graduate level semester hours (50% of the education), would qualify an applicant for this position. Plans and carries out difficult and complex assignments in a variety of systems administration areas. Assignments include interpreting IT policies, standards and requirements and modifying and adapting existing methods and approaches, implementing recommendations independently or as a team member, providing advice and guidance on a wide range and variety of complex IT issues, evaluating and recommending new or enhanced approaches to delivering IT services and analyzing and recommending resolution of complex issues associated with the configuration of IT systems also known as systems administration. Serves as part of the IT Support Team under the Supervisory IT Specialist providing Tier 1 (basic), Tier 2 (Medium), and Tier 3 (advanced) Help Desk support for customers computer, software and network issues. Maintains and supports Active Directory and Email accounts for Yellowstone.
