You will serve as a PRODUCTION MACHINERY MECHANIC LEADER in the MECHANICAL SHOP, PRODUCTION RESOURCES DEPARTMENT of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO LEAD OR SUPERVISE: *Repairing, modifying, installing, and removing Industrial Plant Equipment (IPE). *Independently read and interpret instructions, process instructions, design memorandums, and nuclear power engineering documents. *Troubleshooting and repairing complex equipment utilizing technical work documents such as machinery manuals, schematics, and blueprints. * Setting up and operating inside machinery such as lathes, planers, millers, grinders, and other related specialized equipment. *Working from blueprints, drawings, samples or specifications, charts, tables and performing arithmetic and shop mathematics. *Ability to know the effects of heat processes which determine brittleness or toughness of metals. You will install, maintain, overhaul, repair, and recondition industrial production equipment and its attachments.
You will ensure needed plans, blueprints, materials, and tools are available and that needed stock is available from supply locations.
You will distribute work and ensure work is evenly distributed.
You will ensure deadlines are met.
