You will serve as a SUPERVISORY PRODUCTION SHOP PLANNER in the MECHANICAL SHOP, SHOP 931, CODE 930 of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO LEAD OR SUPERVISE, performing duties such as: - Scheduling journey level mechanic trade (shipfitter, electrician, marine machinery, machinist, pipefitter, or electronics) tasks including controlling the flow of materials to and from various production/industrial shops. - Analyzing work plans, design plans, availability of information and/or man-time estimates. - Scheduling work in various production shops or outside industrial work sites. - Assessing availability of materials, tools required and reassessing priorities. - Following progress of multi-trade work and assisting project managers, planners or shop supervisors in eliminating backlogs and revising material requirements and completion dates. You will oversee the request, purchase, receipt and distribution of material, machines and equipment for use by the shop.
You will monitor the Shipyard material distribution program.
You will be responsible for the accomplishment of all nuclear and non-nuclear Mechanical Shop planning functions.
You will perform administrative duties of a middle level manager.
