One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required. Specialized Experience at the GS-7: One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-5) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required. Specialized experience at the GS-07 level is defined as: Applying financial laws, regulations, principles, systems knowledge, policies, methods, and practices for commercial pay to perform random document reviews for Commercial Pay. Providing routine technical guidance to managers, employees and/or customers; gathering data from financial systems; and researching financial policies and laws to resolve common financial issues related to Commercial Pay. Specialized Experience at the GS-9: One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-7) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required. Specialized experience at the GS-09 level is defined as: Applying financial laws, regulations, policies and procedures and performing random reviews of disbursements for Commercial Pay. Organizes, collects, analyzes and presents a variety of data, information, and statistics related to financial programs and projects based on reviews of assigned program accounts. Time-in-Grade: Current or former federal employees who have held a GS position in the preceding 52 weeks, must meet the time in grade requirement. To be considered for the GS-7, applicants must have served 52 weeks as a GS-5 or higher in the Federal service. To be considered for the GS-9, applicants must have served 52 weeks as a GS-7 or higher in the Federal service. You may qualify for consideration if meeting time-in grade, specialized experience, education requirement, 90 days after competitive appointment requirement, and all other qualification requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of the announcement, unless otherwise indicated on the announcement. ** The effective date of your SF-50 must reflect that you will meet the 52-week time in grade requirement within 30 days of the announcement closing. **
Performs random reviews of disbursements for assigned programs such as Military Pay, Civilian Pay, Travel Pay, Retired and Annuitant Pay, and Commercial Pay.
Organizes, collects, analyzes and presents a variety of data, information, and statistics related to financial programs and projects based on reviews of assigned program accounts.
Researches and identifies problems, determines corrective actions as needed and recommends changes to procedures and practices.
Develops recommendations for modifications or correction of deficiencies.
Analyzes and evaluates financial management systems, public laws, governing policies, guidelines, rules, regulations, and precedents.
