About the Position: This position is located in the Director of Medicine, Department of Pediatrics - Exceptional Family Member Program, at General Leonard Wood Army Community Hospital at Fort Leonard Wood, MO.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes providing customer service; scheduling appointments; maintaining and/or accessing records; and preparing a variety of correspondence, such as reports and spreadsheets. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04). OR Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages.
Provide specialized clerical assistance and coordination of activities within the Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP).
Assist and advise sponsors and their family members on services needed to support or assist with special educational, therapeutic, rehabilitative, or other needs.
Based on patient enrollment, assist patient in initiating the EFMP packet within the EFMP database ensuring accuracy and completeness of records.
Handle difficult and sensitive cases based on precedents or provide recommendations for resolution to the supervisor or EFMP physician for concurrence.
Receive and coordinate queries from Human Resources Command related to the availability of accessible healthcare for EFMs residing within or accompanying the sponsor to MTF’s area of responsibility.
Coordinate enrollments/overseas screening between Pediatrics, Family Practice, Internal Medicine, Referral Management and a variety of other specialty clinics.
Utilize office automation equipment and various software packages to complete correspondence, documents, reports and records for the EFMP.
Conduct training for unit clerical personnel on general EFMP requirements to support accurate dissemination of information to Soldiers and families.
