Job Description:
You will serve as a SUPERVISORY ADMINISTRATIVE/TECHNICAL SPECIALIST in the Expeditionary Warfare and Energy Systems Department (JX), Experimentation and Assessment Division (JXR), Range Branch (JXRN), Weapons Assessment Section (JXRNM) of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER. The salary range shown above represents all of the positions within the band, including high grade positions. This is not a high grade position; therefore, the salary may be limited to a GS-13 Step 10 (currently $138,370).
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-04 (GS-11/12 equivalent) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: leading the planning and execution of projects, programs, or initiatives by managing project resources and quality deliverables to ensure mission objectives are met for the continuous improvement of range operations. You will serve as the section manager for the Weapons Assessment section in the Range Branch, Experimentation and Assessment Division.
You will be responsible for the overall management and operation of a small arms section or armory.
You will be responsible for the supervision of personnel, maintenance of weapons, inventory control, and ensuring all safety and security procedures are followed and ensuring the safety of all personnel during live-fire training events.
You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of range operations to prevent accidents and injuries, including pre-exercise inspections and real-time monitoring and post-exercise procedures.
You will monitor and coordinate tasking and continuous work for the Division’s internal and external customers and develop continuous process improvements to meet or exceed customer expectations.
You will continuously monitor explosive safety and remaining cognizant of the hazards and risks associated with the daily work performed at Special Weapons Assessment Facility (SWAF).
