Job Description:
You will serve as an ENGINEER/SCIENTIST in the Integrated Combat Systems Department of NAVSURFWARCENDLD.
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower pay band, ND-04 (GS 12/13 equivalency), in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience as a professional Engineer or Scientist providing leadership and guidance for Combat System/Combat System Element Engineering, Testing, or Certification. You will provide oversight and direction to all NSWCDD tasking associated with Aegis BMD Baseline 5.x Combat System development, including Requirements Analysis and Definition, Architecture Development, Performance Testing and Evaluation.
You will provide oversight and direction to all NSWCDD tasking associated with Certification and integration with the Ballistic Missile Defense System.
You will work closely with the Aegis BMD Program Director, Deputy Program Director and Chief Engineer to develop and manage NSWCDD's system engineering efforts and provide programmatic support for the Weapon System Development Division.
You will provide technical leadership to a diverse team of scientists and engineers from NSWCDD, other government agencies, and industry partners, while planning, developing, and negotiating tasks with MDA/AB.
You will coordinate all NSWCDD (Depts) combat system development tasking for Aegis BMD 5.x, while managing a budget of approximately $20 million annually.
