This position is part of the Agency Force Protection, Government Publishing Office in Washington, District of Columbia.
To qualify for the Supervisory Security Specialist, PG - 0080 - 15 , you must have one year of specialized experience at the PG-14 or equivalent. Specialized experience includes the following: Applying laws, regulations, and policies to mitigate security risks. Identifying measures to correct security deficiencies. Managing teams' day-to-day work and personnel actions. Developing policies for physical, personnel, or information security practices. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement (03/06/2026) to be considered.
Makes security clearance determinations for employees or other persons for access to sensitive information, resources, material, or work sites.
Develops, implements, and monitors policies, instructions, procedures, control systems, and methods for specific functions and activities.
Identifies and assesses degrees of security vulnerability, then selects or designs appropriate countermeasures that provide the necessary level of protection against threats.
Implements, oversees, and maintains the risk mitigation program for GPO's assets.
Prepares and presents briefings to management on new developments in areas of responsibility regarding complex security matters.
Conducts periodic reviews of facilities and their personnel to assess protection against espionage.
