his is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Major Range Test Facility Base (MRTFB). to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Serve as a Public Safety Telecommunicator for dispatching Fire, Emergency Medical Service (EMS), and Law Enforcement (LE) responders, monitoring alarms and activating Mass Notification Systems in Army Garrison Public Safety Answering Points (PSAPs) / 911 Centers.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which involves operating multi-line telephones, computers or radio equipment to provide information to callers; obtaining detailed information from callers and inputting data collected into databases and software systems; communicating orally to a wide range of people to obtain and provide information; and complying with standard operating procedures in a fast-paced and changing environment. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
Provide emergency services to the public by answering emergency 911 calls and responding with appropriate personnel and equipment.
Monitor computerized fire and Joint Capabilities Integration Development System (ICIDS) alarm systems.
Maintain an accurate status of all emergency response equipment and personnel to ensure prompt and accurate response.
Operate Computer Aided Dispatching (CAD) system, telephones, radios, and station alerting systems.
Provide initial Incident Command support until responding emergency units arrive on scene.
Provide emergency medical dispatching assistance to callers with medical emergencies.
