Job Description:

This is a National Guard Title 32 Excepted Service Position. This is an Indefinite Reimbursable WG-8268-11 AIRCRAFT PNEUDRAULIC SYSTEMS MECHANIC (SMALL SHOP CHIEF) (TITLE 32), Position Description Number D2767000 and is part of the MO TASMG Shop. This is a bargaining unit position. SEE NOTES UNDER CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT.
MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Selected candidate must currently be assigned to a military unit in the Missouri Army National Guard. Title 32 employees will not be militarily senior to their full-time supervisor (grade inversion). Maximum Military Grade - CW3 (W-3) with date of rank after 12 September 2022 GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must possess experience or training that demonstrates the knowledge of basic electrical and mechanical principles; knowledge of troubleshooting procedures used to isolate malfunctions in aircraft pneudraulic systems; and ability to use technical manuals, equipment specifications, and test calibration procedures in performing the work. WG-11 SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must possess specialized experience or training that provided a knowledge of basic electrical and mechanical principles; experience in fabricating fuel, oil, and vacuum hose lines; experience servicing, maintaining, disassembling assembling, repairing and testing hydraulic and pneumatic systems; experience in diagnosing malfunctions and overhauling pneudraulic accessories by disassembling, cleaning part and examining parts. Experience in diagnosing trouble and determining remedies; experience in repairing, rebuilding, and overhauling major systems of ground equipment and pneumatic and hydraulic systems; experience that demonstrates the ability to interpret technical manuals, specifications, and publications.
Oversees and directs the work of the Aircraft Pneudraulic Systems Mechanics, WG-8268-10, who are assigned to the shop.
Plans and lays out work to be accomplished in the shop, which is then completed by the incumbent and lower graded mechanic(s).
Determines approaches, methods and courses of action required to accomplish the mission of the shop in an effective and efficient manner.
Devises and maintains plans and records.
Possesses the knowledge and skills found at the journeyman level as well as those required for planning, accomplishing, and maintaining a functional shop maintenance program.
Manufactures low, medium, and high-pressure hose and tube assemblies per TM requirements or sample including pressure testing of same.
Prepares for and participates in various types of readiness evaluations, inspections, mobilizations, and command support exercises.
Implements safety regulatory requirements.
Ensures that other workers in the shop wear appropriate safety equipment and follow pertinent safety precautions.
Performs other duties as assigned.
