Job Description:
You will serve as a Supervisory General Engineer in the Engineering and Planning Department at San Diego Detachment of PSNS and IMF.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-12) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: experience as a Professional Engineer planning and coordinating ship maintenance repair and modernization of surface ships and overseeing segments managed by subordinates (e.g. quality assurance, contract administration, specification preparation, and advanced planning) to ensure conformance and fleet readiness. You will offer technical, supervisory, and managerial responsibility for project work in connection with overhaul, alteration, repair, maintenance, and testing of non-nuclear equipment of surface ships.
You will perform duties of the Project Engineer including extensive coordination across organizational lines within shipyard departments and with various Headquarters and contractor representatives.
You will responsible for guiding, coordinating, monitoring and reporting, on a project basis, the Engineering and Planning effort being carried out for specific ships or projects.
You will develop and coordinate the development of non-nuclear ship availability work packages.
You will provide supervisory and administrative duties to assigned personnel such as approve leave, plan work, give advice, counsel, or provide instructions, and resolve complaints
You will work with assigned Project Management personnel to develop a Plan of Action and Milestones to guide Engineering and Planning Department efforts for successful project completion
