Opportunity
The Team Leader – Mail Center provides hands‑on, frontline leadership for daily mail and package operations across the Kohler campus, ensuring safe, timely, and accurate service that meets Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC) standards. Working side by side with the team, this role sets daily priorities, allocates work, supports employee development, and models strong performance, safety, and customer service expectations. The Team Leader partners with supervision on hiring, training, feedback, and engagement while also managing administrative and financial responsibilities such as invoice reconciliation, purchase orders, and budget controls. This position interacts closely with internal customers and service providers, supports continuous improvement through standard work and problem‑solving, and is well suited for a hands‑on leader with operations or logistics experience who wants to make a visible, day‑to‑day impact.
Responsibilities
Determine daily priorities, allocate workloads, and adjust staffing to meet service levels and delivery commitments.Communicate priorities and department performance metrics during huddles.Ensure on‑time internal mail/package delivery and outbound shipment processing.Provide first‑line oversight for all transactional/operational activities.Maintain departmental budget controls and ensure expenditures align with plan.Verify and compile month-end department charges and reconcile invoices.Manage creation and renewal of purchase orders for equipment and service.Assist with interviewing, hiring, onboarding, training, and cross‑training of team members.Work with Supervisor to set expectations and provide feedback to the mailing team
support and model a culture of engagement, accountability, and continuous improvement.Ensure all mail center work meets accuracy, documentation, and secure‑handling requirements.Develop, maintain, and enforce policies, procedures, and standard work.Perform routine audits, identify errors, and implement corrective actions.Troubleshoot unidentifiable incoming orders using SAP and maintain tracking systems.
Assist supervisor with enforcing all HSE policies and safe work practices; ensure PPE compliance.Assist Supervisor with safety checks, incident/near‑miss reporting, and investigation follow‑up. Oversee routine equipment setup, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance coordination.Manage maintenance and care of all department vehicles.Maintain 5S and visual standards in all mail center and staging areas.Ensure mailing department processes outgoing FedEx, UPS, and other domestic/foreign shipments in a timely manner.Provide reliable, responsive service to internal customers.Track and monitor incoming/outgoing shipments for inquiries.Conduct departmental morning huddles and maintain clear communication with coworkers, service providers and customers.
