This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies through the STRL Mission Support Direct Hire Authority. Interested applicants must follow the directions in the "How to Apply" section of this flyer to be considered.
In addition to the Basic Education Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09/11 grade level or pay band DP-03 in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate all of the following: Utilizing / using understanding of electro-optical systems and their development, testing, integration, production, and sustainment at a journey-level, (This includes understanding detector and read-out integrated circuit (ROIC) assembly and function, optical window and lens material properties, laser theory and system design, image and signal processing techniques, and modeling and simulation of electro-optic and infrared (EO/IR) systems); Working autonomously and with groups as need to conduct research and utilize modeling tools to solve complex problems and help inform design decisions for electro-optical systems; Operating as part of a dynamic team supporting various and/or special projects as assigned/needed. You will serve as an electro-optical technical subject matter expert in support of Department of War programs and technical initiatives.
You will review and provide inputs to documentation in support of the acquisition of electro-optical systems.
You will perform research and analysis of electro-optical systems utilizing modeling and simulation tools and other resources.
You will support various projects within a dynamic team to meet performance, as well as cost and schedule requirements for the program(s).
You will collaborate with other electro-optical subject matter experts to share lessons learned and enhance the growth of the organization.
You will be required to support program efforts on-site at your duty station and occasionally travel to support on-site meetings with government/industry partners.
