You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience GS-13: One year of specialized experience which includes assisting with planning readiness operations exercises; providing advice on exercise policies and procedures; and assisting in the development of new approaches to the exercise programs for the organization. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For the GS-13, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
Serve as a liaison officer interfacing with senior leadership in order to ensure the appropriate approvals are obtained and to de-conflict operations for real-world contingencies. Select
Coordinates with US country team and/or local representatives to identify potential exercise locations,
Briefs host nation and/or local authorities to obtain permission for conduct of exercise activities
Lead and oversee special operations exercises, involving each of the Geographic Combatant Commanders (GCC) on a rotating basis.
Plans and executes a series of global readiness exercises and short duration emergency deployment readiness exercises that directly support COMJSOC requirements.
Provides regular exercise updates in the form of briefings, information papers and other product development for the COMJSOC, Director, and other senior leaders.
Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) and lead in the coordination and execution of complex exercises and operational rehearsals that include combatant commands and Staff.
Responsible for developing challenging and relevant exercise scenarios that incorporate intelligence threat assessments and CCMD contingency plans
Develops the manning requirements for Joint Exercise Control Group (JECG) and target support locations
