This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Domestic Defense Industrial Base/Major Range and Test Facilities Base Civilian Personnel Workforce (DIB and MRTFB) to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: The incumbent of this position will serve as the Visitor Control Officer/Civilian Police Officer at Radford Army Ammunition Plant located in Radford, VA.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes; Enforcing military, federal, state, local criminal, traffic, and/or motor vehicle laws and regulations; controlling access to restricted areas by verifying credentials; and gathering information and facts pertinent to an investigation. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone -- no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
Oversee and manage the National Crime Information Center - Interstate Identification Index (NCIC-III) system for vetting visitors, un-cleared contractors, and Government personnel.
Prepare and maintain data logs and statistics on vetted personnel command review.
Secure crime/accident scene by conducting investigations, gathering evidence and interviewing witnesses.
Enforce military, federal, state, and local criminal, traffic law and regulations.
