To qualify for the Construction Control Representative, PG - 0809 - 13 , you must meet the following requirements: This position has an Individual Occupational Requirement (IOR) Individual Occupational Requirements Engineering aid or technician or surveying technician performing work directly related to construction. Construction inspector or construction representative responsible for interpreting plans and specifications, inspecting materials and workmanship, and insuring adherence to safety requirements. Supervisor of craftsperson, equipment operators, or mechanics engaged in construction work, provided that the experience involved responsibility for interpreting plans and specifications and inspecting workmanship for adherence to such plans and specifications. Specialized Experience In addition to the Individual Occupational Requirement applicants must possess one year of specialized experience at the next lowest grade level PG-12 (or equivalent) level. Qualifying specialized experience is described as: 1) analyzing construction regulations, policies, quality assurance, and developing solutions; 2) inspecting complex/critical infrastructure plan requirements, materials, and equipment; and 3) managing and coordinating all construction workloads and advising senior colleagues, agency leaders, and internal/external stakeholders of findings. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Performs constructability reviews and collaborates with consultants, architects, engineers, and estimators.
Monitors and inspects contractor performance to ensure compliance with contract requirements.
Reviews construction specifications and contract documents.
Serves as Contracting Officer's Technical Representative (COTR).
Investigates and analyzes contract changes.
