One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-09) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required. GS-11 Specialized experience is defined as: Managing and monitoring force protection programs to assess and resolve security gaps and deficiencies for an organization by utilizing technical expertise related to operations, information and physical security to ensure controls to sensitive information and areas are being enforced. Time-in-Grade: Current or former federal employees who have held a GS position in the preceding 52 weeks, must meet the time in grade requirement. Applicant must have served 52 weeks as a GS-09 or higher grade in Federal Service. ** The effective date of your SF-50 must reflect that you will meet the 52-week time in grade requirement within 30 days of the announcement closing. ** You may qualify for consideration if meeting time-in grade, specialized experience, education requirement, 90 days after competitive appointment requirement, and all other qualification requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of the announcement, unless otherwise indicated on the announcement.
Oversees planning and implementation of security policies and procedures across multiple domains of security: Personnel (PERSEC), Physical (PHYSEC), Information (INFOSEC), Industrial (INDSEC), Operations (OPSEC), and Special Security (SPECSEC).
Evaluates weaknesses identified during security program reviews and higher headquarters assessments, addressing systemic security issues by modifying and applying recommended solutions.
Analyzes outcomes of security violation inquiries and investigations, and coordinates with HR Personnel Security to monitor clearance eligibility and access.
Ensures proper procedures are established and followed for the movement, handling, and storage of sensitive materials.
Possesses in-depth knowledge of security concepts, principles, and practices to independently review, analyze, and resolve complex security challenges, while applying policy guidance to contractors and government/military officials.
