Job Description:

This position is part of the Defense Human Resources Activity. The incumbent serves as Associate Director overseeing the Recruitment and Placement Services Branch, one of the three major Employment and Compensation branches.
You may qualify at the GS-15, if you fulfill the following qualifications: A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service: Interpreting or developing civilian personnel policies. Delivering training services. Providing technical and advisory support to Department of War (DoW) management and HR Specialists on a wide variety of HR functional areas and programs including staffing, recruitment and outreach, pay and leave, classification, civilian transition, and training oversight. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
As a Supervisory Human Resources Specialist (Recruitment & Placement) at the GS-0201-15 some of your typical work assignments may include: Develops, evaluates and makes recommendations concerning complex Federal civilian HR staffing policies and programs impacting the DoD civilian workforce. Provides customer timely and comprehensive products that support mission accomplishment. Makes authoritative recommendations on HR issues and problems that are precedent- setting and/or involve Department-wide impact. Translate laws and regulations into actionable policies and providing authoritative guidance. Serves on numerous internal and external committees, working groups, and panels. Performs full range of workload planning, scheduling, and human resources management responsibilities over an assigned workforce of GS-14 and GS-13 human resources technical experts. Oversee the design, development, and delivery of formal training to the DoW HR community.
