About the Position: This is a GS-0341-09 Administrative Officer, position with USACE Galveston district, in the Operations or Real Estate Division.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes the following: 1) assisting in development of operating budget for organization to include budget formulation from historical data; AND 2) preparing data for reports; AND 3) performing administrative support duties, such as personnel administration, procurement, or records management. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Business Management, Economics etc. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
Serve as advisor to the Division Chief and staff on matters relating to administration, program management, related program and management controls.
Independently conduct special or one-time studies, surveys, or inspections of administrative matters, such as clerical process, records management, timekeeping and labor reporting.
Coordinate all clerical, timekeeping and CEFMS duties for the Division.
Represent Division Chief with representatives of Human Resources Office and others to discuss personnel matters, to outline personnel recruitment requirements, to discuss reassignments, details, employee relation problems, placement problems, etc.
Prepare and analyze budget for the division covering facility accounts, equipment, supplies, salaries, travel, etc.
Represent Chief Operations Division in meetings with staff officials and others to present justification and obtain approval for administrative budget increases and to discuss budget report expenditures.
