Please note: There is no pay associated with this position. This position serves as Without Compensation (WOC) Research Statistician within the Office of Research and Development (ORD). To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 05/08/2026. Experience: You must possess general experience (1) Performing the consent process and obtaining verbal and/or written informed consent from patients, (2) Processing subject reimbursements and travel, (3) Screening and evaluating recruitment of candidates for various research studies (4) Assisting with data collection, data analysis, and monitoring protocols for clinic research studies related to serious mental illness, and (5) Completing data analysis of eletrophysiological data using MATLAB., R, JASP, and other advanced statistical techniques. AND, Education: You must possess a bachelor or graduate degree from an accredited college or university in a field related to the medical field, health sciences, or allied sciences. (Copies of transcripts are required at the time of application) Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment. Physical Requirements: The work is predominantly sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there will be some walking, standing, bending and carrying of items of moderate weight such as large binders, banker style file boxes, meeting materials, papers, books or small parts. Hand and eye coordination for delicate testing procedures may be the only special physical demand required to perform the work.
Major Duties: Assists with data collection of electrophysiological data through the use of EEG, EMG, and other methods. Assists in data analysis of eletrophysiological data using MATLAB., R, JASP, and other advanced statistical techniques. Monitors protocols for clinical research studies Administers tests and measurements specific to participants with serious mental illness as required by project design Records data from samples and specimens using advanced technologies Screens and evaluates recruitment of candidates with serious mental illness for clinical research studies Conducts recruitment and enrollment of participants, providing information on study objectives and constraints Performs informed consent process and obtains verbal and/or written informed consent, Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) authorization, and background demographic information (as needed) from patients Processes subject reimbursements and travel Regularly reviews guidance, policies, and procedures to maintain regulatory compliance Responds to general inquiries from program participants, staff, and other stakeholders Work Schedule: Intermittent (Without Compensation)
