Required Qualifications: Applicants must possess a J.D. degree (or equivalent) and be an active member of the bar (any U.S. jurisdiction) by their entry on duty date. Law school graduates and current law students taking a July 2026 bar examination may be considered, subject to the foregoing requirements. United States citizenship is required. The United States Attorney's Office, Middle District of Florida (MDFL), is seeking an experienced attorney interested in working in our Appellate Division, Post-Conviction Section. The MDFL is headquartered in Tampa and has branch offices in Orlando, Jacksonville, Fort Myers and Ocala. This position can be filled in any of our 5 offices. The person hired for this position will represent the United States in a variety of post-conviction litigation, including addressing defendants' motions seeking relief from their convictions or sentences under 28 U.S.C. §§ 2241 and 2255 and 18 U.S.C. § 3582. The position will require some appearances in United States District Court and also may entail practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.
