This position is part of the Agency Support Operations, Government Publishing Office in Washington, District of Columbia.
To qualify for the INDUSTRIAL PROGRAM SPECIALIST, PG - 0301 - 13 , you must meet the following requirements: Possess (1) year of specialized experience at the PG-12 (or equivalent) level or higher. Specialized experience includes: 1) Demonstrating experience with Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) Ladder logic function block programming (i.e., Rockwell Automation, Mitsubishi, and Siemens) and software programming/scripting language; AND 2) reading and interpreting electrical schematics, including power distribution, motor controls, and control panels up to and including 4,160 volts; AND 3) Prioritizing project tasks and duration to feed the integrated master schedule for building construction and maintenance Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement (05/11/2026) to be considered.
Oversees, monitors, and works with architects, engineers, technical experts and business stakeholders on design of new structures, additions and modifications to maintain project scope discipline.
Prioritizes project task and duration to feed the integrated master schedule for building construction and maintenance.
Performs a wide range of technical project and engineering tasks related to the design and programming functions for a variety of equipment and processes for GPO.
Applies a continuous process improvement methodology and/or approach i.e. (Lean Six Sigma) to deliver and execute engineering and technical infrastructural projects.
Performs individual project management activities i.e. Acquisition and Support, Engineering and Integration, Quality Testing and Evaluation, Programmatic Activities, Equipment Aspects.
