Applicant must have directly applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies or knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position. Such experience is typically in or directly related to the work of the position to be filled. Qualifying experience would be demonstrated by: -Experience planning and conducting comprehensive assessments of physical and security programs. -Experience assessing security program compliance and effectiveness in supporting classified IT operations. -Experience documenting findings derived from inspections and assessments required by governing guidelines and standard operating procedures. -Experience making recommendations for selection of design for appropriate countermeasures to prevent compromise related to cybersecurity. This position is within the Work Category PROFESSIONAL at Work Level FULL PERFORMANCE, Series and Grade GG-0080-12. You will serve as a SECURITY SPECIALIST in the INSPECTIONS BRANCH, TEAM C, OPERATIONS DIVISION of U.S. FLEET CYBER COMMAND.
You will serve as a Cybersecurity Assessor planning and conducting inspections and security reviews to assess the effectiveness of physical and other security controls.
You will conduct comprehensive assessments as part of the inspection process to determine the integrity of security administration and documentation programs.
You will assess physical safeguards for effectiveness in protecting and storing classified material, as well as access controls.
You will compile lessons learned from inspections to contribute to vulnerability knowledge management and resultant training efforts.
