This position is with the U. S. Department of Labor, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), within the Directorate of Administrative Programs (DAP), in the Office of Technology Assistance (OTA), located in Arlington Heights, IL, or Washington, D.C. This position is at the full performance level. This position is inside the bargaining unit. This position is not remote. Selectee will be expected to report to one of the offices above.
For the GS-14: Applicants must have 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level GS-13 in the Federal Service. Specialized Experience is the experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) to perform the duties of the position successfully, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level. Qualifying specialized experience for the GS-14 includes: Developing and implementing enterprise-level strategies for emerging technologies, such as artificial intelligence, to improve program effectiveness and align organizational priorities with mission needs.
Duties for the Management and Program Analyst (AI Program Manager) position include, but are not limited to the following: Serving as the Agency's primary coordinator for AI-related legal and policy considerations, working routinely with the office of the Solicitor and program leadership to interpret and apply applicable laws, regulations, and ethical standards. Representing OSHA in Department of Labor and interagency AI efforts providing input on policy, governance, and programmatic approaches to AI adoption and oversight. Formulating long-range plans, goals, and objectives for AI adoption and integration across the Occupational Safety and Health Administration. Evaluating potential risks, including legal, ethical, operational, and reputational impacts on Agency programs. Establishing, defining, and managing governance processes for AI use cases, including intake, evaluation, prioritization, and approval recommendations.
